This guarantee is provided free of charge and is legally binding on Chemical Release Company
Limited. It covers adhesion of Clear Grip Anti-Slip when the product is suitable for the surface and is
prepared, mixed, applied, cured, used and maintained in accordance with the written instructions. It is
additional to, and does not replace or reduce, a consumer's statutory rights.

1 Scope and duration
1.1 Covered product This guarantee applies to genuine Clear Grip Anti-Slip coating products
supplied in the United Kingdom by Chemical Release Company Limited.
1.2 Guarantee period The adhesion guarantee runs for five years from the date on which the
coating is applied. If the application date cannot reasonably be established, the guarantee period
will run from the purchase date.
1.3 Territory This guarantee is available for products purchased from us and applied at premises in
the United Kingdom.
1.4 What is guaranteed During the guarantee period, the coating will remain adhered to a sound,
suitable and correctly prepared substrate, subject to the conditions and exclusions in this
document.

 

2 Conditions of cover
Cover applies only where all of the following conditions are met:
• the product was within its shelf life and was stored in accordance with the label and instructions
before use;
• the customer checked that the surface and surrounding conditions were suitable for the product;
• the surface was sound, clean, dry and free from contamination, residues, soap, oils, waxes,
silicone, moisture and loose or failing coatings;
• all components were prepared, mixed and applied in the stated quantities and sequence, within
the stated temperature and curing requirements;
• the coating was allowed to cure fully before use and was subsequently cleaned and maintained in
accordance with our instructions; and
• reasonable evidence of purchase, application and maintenance can be provided if requested.
Clear Grip is designed for DIY and professional application. Use of a professional installer is not a
condition of this product guarantee, but the application instructions must be followed.

 

3 Exclusions
This guarantee does not cover adhesion failure or damage caused wholly or partly by:
• use on an unsuitable, contaminated, damp, unstable or inadequately prepared substrate;
• incorrect storage, mixing, application, coverage, temperature, curing, cleaning or maintenance;

• failure of an underlying coating, sealant, grout, adhesive or substrate; structural movement;
cracking; hydrostatic pressure; rising or trapped moisture; or ponding water;
• abrasion, impact, scratching, deliberate damage, misuse, neglect, vandalism, fire, flooding,
chemical attack or cleaning with unsuitable chemicals, tools or machinery;
• alterations, repairs or further coatings applied over Clear Grip without our written approval;
• normal wear of the textured surface in service, including wear caused by traffic levels or conditions
outside the product's stated intended use; or
• a colour, gloss, texture or appearance variation that does not amount to an adhesion failure.
Nothing in this section excludes responsibility for a defect that was present when the product was
supplied, or excludes or restricts any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.

 

4 Slip resistance and ongoing care
This is an adhesion guarantee, not a promise that every treated surface will achieve or retain a
particular slip-resistance classification in every location or throughout the guarantee period. Published
slip-test results relate to the test specimens, preparation and test conditions stated in the relevant
report. Actual slip risk is affected by the substrate, application, wear, contamination, footwear, cleaning
and environmental conditions. The treated surface should be cleaned, maintained and periodically
assessed in line with the level and type of use.

 

5 Making a claim
Tell us promptly after discovering a possible adhesion defect and before carrying out remedial work,
unless immediate work is reasonably necessary for safety or to prevent further damage. Claims must
be made within the guarantee period by emailing info@cleargrip-antislip.co.uk.
Please provide, so far as reasonably available:

 

• your name, address, telephone number and email address;
• proof of purchase and the product batch or lot number, if available;
• the application date, surface type, approximate treated area and application method;
• a description of the issue, when it first appeared and how the surface has been used and
maintained; and
• clear photographs or video showing the overall area and the alleged adhesion failure.

 

We may request further reasonable information, a sample of unused product or packaging, or an
opportunity to inspect the affected area on reasonable notice. If information is missing, we will explain
what is needed and allow a reasonable opportunity to provide it. We aim to acknowledge a claim
within five working days and assess it within a reasonable time.

 

6 Remedy under this guarantee
If we accept that a covered adhesion failure has occurred, we will, at our option, provide sufficient
replacement Clear Grip product to recoat the affected area or refund the price paid for the affected
product. This product guarantee does not ordinarily cover surface preparation, removal, access,
application, reapplication, labour or contractor charges. This limitation does not apply where such
costs or another remedy are recoverable under the customer's statutory rights.

 

7 Consumer statutory rights
If you are an individual purchasing wholly or mainly outside your trade, business, craft or profession,
you are a consumer. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit
for any particular purpose made known to the seller and as described. If they do not meet those

requirements, you may have rights including the short-term right to reject, repair or replacement, a
price reduction or the final right to reject, depending on the circumstances.
These rights apply against the retailer that sold you the product and may continue after this guarantee
has expired. This guarantee is additional to those rights. Nothing in it excludes or restricts liability for
death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other
liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.

 

8 Business customers
If you purchase the product wholly or mainly for business use, this guarantee applies alongside the
written terms agreed for the sale. To the extent permitted by law, the remedy in section 6 is the sole
remedy provided by this voluntary guarantee. Nothing in this document overrides any liability or
remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.

 

9 Complaints and dispute resolution
If you disagree with our decision, email us with the reasons and any additional evidence and ask for a
review. A person not responsible for the original decision will review the matter where reasonably
practicable, and we will provide a final response.
If a consumer complaint remains unresolved, we will provide the name and website address of an
appropriate approved Alternative Dispute Resolution entity and state whether we are obliged or
prepared to use that procedure. Participation in dispute resolution does not remove the consumer's
right to seek independent advice or bring court proceedings.

 

10 Governing law
This guarantee is governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident
elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you retain the benefit of any mandatory protections provided by the
law applicable where you live and may bring proceedings in the courts available to you under
applicable law.
